Thought and Character By James Allen

                              Thought And Character

The aphorism, "As a man thinketh in his heart so is he," not only embraces the whole of a man's being, but is so comprehensive as to reach out to every condition and circumstance of his life. A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoughts.
As the plant springs from, and could not be without, the seed, so every act of man springs from the hidden seeds of thought, and could not have appeared without them. This applies equally to those acts called "spontaneous" and "unpremeditated" as to those which are deliberately executed.
Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruit; thus does a man garner in the sweet and bitter fruitage of his own husbandry.
Man is a growth by law, and not a creation by artifice, and cause and effect are as absolute and undeviating in the hidden realm of thought as in the world of visible and material things. A noble and God-like character is not a thing of favor or chance, but is the natural result of continued effort in right thinking, the effect of long-cherished association with God-like thoughts. An ignoble and bestial character, by the same process, is the result of the continued harboring of groveling thoughts.
Man is made or unmade by himself. In the armory of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself. He also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the divine perfection. By the abuse and wrong application of thought he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master.
Of all the beautiful truths pertaining to the soul which have been restored and brought to light in this age, none is more gladdening or fruitful of divine promise and confidence than this--that man is the master of thought, the molder of character, and the maker and shaper of condition, environment, and destiny.
As a being of power, intelligence, and love, and the lord of his own thoughts, man holds key to every situation, and contains within himself that transforming and regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills.
Man is always the master, even in his weakest and most abandoned state. But in his weakness and degradation he is foolish master who misgoverns his "household." When he begins to reflect upon his condition and search diligently for the law upon which his being is established, he then becomes the wise master, directing his energies with intelligence and fashioning his thoughts to fruitful issues. Such is the conscious master, and man can only thus become by discovering within himself the laws of thought. This discovery is totally a matter of application, self-analysis and experience.
Only by much searching and mining are gold and diamonds obtained, and man can find every truth connected with his being, if he will dig deep into the mine of his soul. That he is the maker of his character, the molder of his life, and the builder of his destiny, he may unerringly prove, if he will watch, control, and alter his thoughts, tracing their effects upon himself, upon others and upon his life and circumstances, linking cause and effect by patient practice and investigation. And utilizing his every experience, even the most trivial, everyday occurrence, as a means of obtaining that knowledge of himself which is understanding, wisdom, power. In this direction is the law of absolute that "He that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." For only by patience, practice, and ceaseless importunity can a man enter the door of the temple of knowledge.

WHAT THE FOOLS THINK ABOUT THE WISE

WHAT THE FOOLS THINK ABOUT THE WISE

EMN President
1.   The fools think that the wise are foolish to believe in a God they have not seen, visited or lived with.
Power Point: “Believe in God, believe also in me.”
2.   The fools think that the wise are foolish to believe living forever in a kingdom they never built or seen.
Power Point: “Blessed are those who believe without seeing….”
3.   The fools think that the wise are foolish to believe without seeing in the name of faith.
Power Point:Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard…..”
4.   The fools think that the wise are foolish to reap where they did not sow in the name of asking God for favour. They love labour more than favour.
Power point: Favour is earned. If you work for God, God will favour you and if you work for man, man will favour you. It is just an extra reward of labour.
5.   The fools think that the wise are foolish to keep giving arms. They believe that the more you give the more empty your pocket will be and the poorer you will become. They never understood that givers never lack.
Power Point: “Give it shall be given unto you good measures shaking over shall men give unto you.”
6.   The fools never understood that the more you excuse yourself the more you accuse yourself.
Power Point: Take and accept responsibility even when the task is odd and shameful.
7.   The fools think that every misfortune is a curse from the village. They never come to terms that one could mistakenly put a curse on himself and for that they will always look for who to blame.
Power Point: Whose fault is it that you are where you are today? Find out.
8.   The fools think that love is all about sex.
Power Point: Relationship built on the platform of sex will collapse but relationship built on commitment and character will succeed. Sex is love, commitment and good only for between married couple but a sin that leads to death for unmarried people.
9.   The fools think that the wise is foolish to stand and face risks and challenges even when they had the opportunity to quit and take refuge in their comfort zone. They risk their life by living a risk free life.
Power Point: It is more risky not to take risk than taking risk. Those that risk in God will rise in life. Nothing attracts the mantle like battles.
10.  The fools think that the wise are foolish to make plans against days and years they are not yet sure they will live up to see.
Power Point: Planning is both an art and a discipline. Learn to make plans. You reap the dividend of your past in the present therefore; invest in your today so that you will be qualified to have a share in the future. Yesterday is enjoyed today and the enjoyment of tomorrow is dependent on the today – every moment. Don’t fail to plan otherwise you have planned to fail.

The wise does not think anything about the fool only that he knows that a fool is a fool. He has better things to think about than to sit and worry why a fool is a fool.

Dear reader, if you find yourself patterning your thought-life in this direction as stated above, please desist and make amends. Follow men whose thinking faculty is capable of creating a better world.

Part Two: Secrets of Bishop Oyedepo’s Ministry Success

Secrets of Bishop Oyedepo’s Ministry Success - 2

Dr. David Oyedepo
His Connection With Pastor E. A. Adeboye.

Blessed be the day the Lord to me he said. The Lord said; “I won’t like you go into ministry like others have gone. I would have hands laid on you after the order of Deuteronomy 34:9…and Joshua was filled with the spirit of wisdom for Moses had laid his hands upon him and the children of Israel hearkened unto him…..” and when he asked God who he has appointed to lay hands on him, God directed him to Papa Adeboye. “Why didn’t the Lord ask me to lay my hands on myself?” Don’t I have a hand? Dr. Oyedepo said. God spoke to him that he was connecting him to where the spirit will flow from into him.
When the lord reveals something to him, he runs with excitement to meet his mentors only to discover that what he is celebrating was already a part of them. Submitting to a mentor gives you a voice. The leadership mantle is a spiritual thing. Joshua was not the only one with Moses but he distinguished himself for the mantle. Elisha followed Elijah earnestly until the mantle fell on him. Peter followed Jesus until the anointed was rubbed off on him. It is not all about quoting a man’s word but being a life student of such man. The fellowship must be consistent for the mantle to be concrete. Followership has a test which must be passed for the mantle to fall. If you don’t refer to anyone in life, you will never be referred to. No man is a self-made man. If you are looking for such man you won’t find him here.

Kenneth Copeland is over 72years old. He has always believed and followed the teachings of Kenneth Hagin and Oral Roberts yet it has never eroded him his identity. What have you achieved you think no one achieved? Isaac Newton said; “if I have ever seen any further, it is by standing on the shoulders of those who have gone before me.” If you can’t see anyone ahead of you, you will never become ahead.

Be wise and get a mentor to deserve a mantle.

EXPOSED! Secrets of Bishop Oyedepo’s Ministry Success.

EXPOSED!
Secrets of Bishop Oyedepo’s Ministry Success.

Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo
Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo is the Presiding Bishop and founder of the Living Faith Church, worldwide, also known as Winners chapel. It is a thriving Christian organization reputed to be one of the largest and fastest growing church in the world. Dr. David who is also the Chancellor, of the Covenant University Otta, Nigeria, is no doubt a man of spiritual influence and affluence in the world today. His ministry which is only a little above 25years old has gathered so much testimonies and impact, giving birth to several other ministries that one would wish to know its success secrets.

According to Dr. Oyedepo, his major success secrets in ministry are his alignment to spiritual father and mentors. Two of such mentors which he talks so glowingly about is the Late Rev Kenneth E. Hagin and Pastor E.A Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He noted that nothing gives a man speed like a mantle. But he insist that you are only qualified for the mantle of your mentors.

A Message from Dr. Oyedepo
You are only qualified for the mantle of your mentors. A mentor is someone you have accepted as a monitor of your destiny. Someone you genuinely celebrate and covet what he carries and have accepted as your leader, instructor and role model.
Without a role model, you can’t perform your role to the best. To be mentor less is to be an orphan. The implication of being an orphan is that no one gives you direct attention. They only give you their spare time which will never be enough. Every prize winner in the race of life requires a mentor since they are ladders that they climb to the top. Anyone that has no regard for a ladder can never climb a great height. To disregard the ladder is to be grounded in life.
A lot of leadership mantle is wasted because a new generation of proud youth and people have risen that doesn’t have value for it. So they keep reinventing the wheels instead of climbing on the wings of their mentors. There’s no great man without a natural father and there’s no renowned scholar that doesn’t have a particular school of thought – they always have their root in a certain thinking pattern. There is no field or profession without pacesetters.

His Kenneth Hagin Connection
Many years ago, some of his friends mocked him for sticking and believing in the life and books of Kenneth Hagin who they regarded to be an old fashioned and out dated man of God – lacking anointing. Funny enough today, those friends of his can’t equal with him. He emphatically said; “if you don’t want to live under anybody’s shadow, you will never have a shadow at all.
In 1977, he craved for whatever Kenneth hagin carried. He said; “I admired his serenity and noiseless impact in ministry, I’ve always believed that you don’t have to make noise to make news. In fact, the more noise a man makes, the more a nuisance he becomes.” So, he left for a meeting by Kenneth Hagin in the United States with all desperation and thirst. As he was sitting, something electric flashed from him to me and he began to cry and sob uncontrollably. After a while, the Holy Ghost spoke to him saying; “my son David, the baton has been passed over to you” and from that moment, his ministry changed and moved to the next level.

His Early Morning Encounter
One early morning, God brought Hagin to me in my study room in an open vision. I was not asleep at all.” He said. And God said; “Son, pattern your ministry after this man.” Those words became his guiding principle in life. Whenever he stands to talk, he will always boost in the fact that he was a direct beneficiary of the pace setting ministry of Kenneth Hagin.
Hagin never borrowed in ministry, I also never borrowed. Hagin never begged, I never begged too. Hagin’s book went all over the world, our books have being on every country of this earth. Hagin never ran around, he influenced the world from one spot. He influenced the world from a little town called Broken Arrow in the quiet city of Tulsa in the state of California. God also took us to a small town of Otta in Ogun State and the world began to take notice of us too. I have always loved the dignity of Hagin’s ministry. His dept of insight was unequalled in his time. I craved for all and followed him diligently and they are robbing off in my ministry too.” He said.

According to Dr. Oyedepo, Kenneth Hagin’s book ‘Following God’s Plan For Your Life’ was like a diary to him. Anytime he wants to take a new strategic course of action, he consults the book.
When Kenneth Hagin was about to die, he had a nudge in his spirit that a general was about to be translated into glory. It was his closeness and fellowship with him that gave him the ability to perceive and for that reason; he traveled to the United States with the wife. And after two weeks of that trip, Hagin was passed into glory.

What qualifies you for the mantle is not hanging around but a following around. Joshua was a crazy follower of Moses. Joshua’s joy was the exploits and success of Moses ministry.
Everything you solely desire and crave for can be obtained only when you find the right man to fit in in your life. Get a mentor you can always trace to and a role model who you will pattern your life after.
